Irwin J Hoffman

As a math teacher and tennis pro, Irwin Jacob Hoffman inspired countless students. He installed the first high school computer laboratory in the country and tirelessly advocated for computer education. His innovative, creative, and individualized teaching style suited his students, instilled them with confidence, and launched them into their careers.

This site pays homage to “Doc Hoffman,” and tells his extraordinary story through a chronology of his life and work, press coverage of his tennis and pedagogical successes,  and tributes from former students — many of whom feel the benefits of studying with him have served them throughout their lives.
