N.B. This Biography is assembled from personal interviews, as well as transcriptions from ORAL HISTORY videos 1 and 2, recorded in November 2011. Of these, Irwin Hoffman said,
“We made these DVDs because we wanted you to know that hard work can be fun. I was so lucky to have two careers, both of which I enjoyed. Never a day went by when I didn’t enjoy going to work, even those days that were very long days—8 to 12 hours long—and I hope this will encourage you to work hard at whatever you do. I have a favorite saying, ‘Whatever you do, do it well.’ And that’s what I did. I did it as good as I could do it.”
