“I retired in 1989 and did my consultant work with IBM. I had to go around the world, teaching teachers how to use the software we put together to teach high school math. And it was fun and we saw the world. We went to Guam, Bangkok, Hong Kong, and all over the United States and Hawaii. It was very exciting.
“After that, the Internet came along and IBM quit selling its program that we wrote. And I started retiring and reading Westerns.”
